G2 or G Ontario Parking maneuvers:
Reverse Parking:
Align perpendicular your car with the parking spot with about 3 feet away from the parking spot lines.
Drive your vehicle 3 lines away from the parking spot (align the mirror to the third line) and stop.
Turn your steering wheel all the way left, signal left, check 360 degrees around your car and start reversing.
Once your car is straight, turn your steering wheel to straight position and reverse straight, then stop when needed.
Keep in mind vehicle length and parking spot width could change your stopping position when aligning the car in the first step.
3 Point turn:
Signal right, blind spot left and move closer to the curb.
Signal left, turn the steering wheel all the way left, check all mirrors, blind spot left and start moving closer to the curb.
Turn the steering wheel all the way right, switch gear to reverse, signal right, check 360 around your car and start reversing once you get closer to the curb stop.
Turn your steering wheel all the way left, switch gear to drive, signal left, and start checking right window for incoming traffic, and check all mirrors with blind spot to the left then start driving ahead.
Roadside stop or emergency Parking
Signal right then blind spot Right.
Start going toward the curb.
Once you get closer to the curb (make sure the rear tire is on the cement part of the road check with the Passenger mirror).
Park the vehicle (put the gear in park, pull the hand brake, and put the hazard 4-way lights on)
These are the complete steps for roadside stop needed for your G2 road test in Ontario.
Uphill with curb, Downhill with curb
Uphill with curb, put your right signal, check your right blind spot get closer to the curb.
stop, turn your steering wheel all the way to the left, put your vehicle in park, and put your hand brake.
Downhill with curb, put your right signal, check your right blind spot get closer to the curb.
stop, turn your steering wheel all the way to the right, put your vehicle in park, and put your hand brake.
Parallel parking
Pick your parking spot, signal right blind spot right.
Align your car mirror to mirror to the target car for same length size.
Turn your steering wheel one and quarter to the right, switch your gear to reverse, check 360 around your car.
Start reversing once your car is 45 degrees to the curb stop.
Turn your steering wheel all the way left and start looking at the passenger mirror while reversing make sure not to hit the curb.
Once your vehicle is straight and you can see the tire of the other car, stop.
Park your car, switch your gear to park, and pull the hand brake.
Parallel parking
Pick your parking spot, signal right blind spot right.
Align your car mirror to mirror to the target car for same length size.
Turn your steering wheel one and quarter to the right, switch your gear to reverse, check 360 around your car.
Start reversing once your car is 45 degrees to the curb stop.
Turn your steering wheel all the way left and start looking at the passenger mirror while reversing make sure not to hit the curb.
